Olds & District Hospice Society is offering this opportunity to learn and grow to our community. At no charge. If desired, the ability to donate will be available. Desserts/Coffee/Tea will be served.
The focus of the evening is “Assisted Death….Having the Conversation.” Dr. Eric Wasylenko has been a great support to Olds & District Hospice Society through the last 7 years. We are delighted to bring him to our community to share in this controversial topic of our times.
Dr. Eric Wasylenko MD, BSc, MHSc, is a palliative care physician and clinical ethicist and currently is the Provincial Medical Advisor, Advance Care Planning/Goals of Care Designation Initiative with Alberta Health Services. He helped establish the integrated palliative care service in Calgary in the late 90s, and co-led the creation of the Foothills Country Hospice from 2003 to 2008. His ethics interests include issues in end of life, resource allocation and priority setting, public health, immunizations and prison health. Eric works primarily with the Health Quality Council of Alberta, and consults for a number of health care and government organizations. He co-chairs the ethics advisory group for the Public Health Agency of Canada. Eric teaches extensively and currently holds clinical lecturer appointments at the University of Calgary and University of Alberta. Hope you can join us for this informational evening.
