AHPCA Virtual Roadshow – 10 Tips to Navigate Global Grief

June 3, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

When the in-person AHPCA Roadshow was postponed to Spring 2021, we still wanted to get together with all of you.

Join us instead at the inaugural AHPCA Virtual Roadshow!

The world is experiencing global grief right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic and isolation. This is a time of uncertainty and fear. We can not change that. What CAN we do?

10 Tips to Navigate Global Grief

Yvonne Heath has been an RN since 1988 and has worked in 10 different hospitals, in departments from emergency and intensive care to chemotherapy, palliative care and hospice. In her nursing career, Yvonne witnessed our grief-phobic society, and how our reluctance to talk about, plan and prepare for grief, death and dying causes excessive suffering personally, professionally and at the end of life.

When we learn to talk about and plan for grief and life’s challenges, something amazing happens. We live more fully and we suffer less at the end of our life. Our loved ones and workplaces suffer less and are able to move through their grief.

That heavy, tearful feeling you’ve had since March? It’s grief. The pandemic has caused the collective loss of the world as we knew it. The loss of normal. The loss of physical connection. The loss of routine. The loss of work. The loss of gathering for meals. The loss of bedside vigils. The loss of gathering to mourn. All of these losses are valid; the worst loss is always your own loss.

Join us at the AHPCA Virtual Roadshow for some help to navigating this global grief.

Participants who register for this session will be sent a Zoom link to access the seminar virtually. If you have any questions about access, please contact communications@ahpca.ca

AHPCA is a non-profit organization. Donations help us build and continue our programming and can be made online at donate here.
