Thank You to Our Supporters

The COMPASS for the Caregiver course has a $300 value. Thanks to sponsorship from Caregivers Alberta, this course is typically offered for a $55 manual and registration fee.

For this Canmore, Alberta session, the course is being offered at no cost to participants, with support from Ram Projects and Renovations, a locally owned and operated business based in Banff.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Bow Valley Regional Housing for generously providing the meeting space for this program at no cost, helping make it possible for caregivers in the Bow Valley to gather, learn, and connect.

COMPASS for the Caregiver is a multi-session, interactive workshop series.

Session 1: “Being a Caregiver”
Caregiving can be stressful and isolating, and it can impact both your physical and mental health. In this session, you will explore your role as a caregiver while reflecting on your strengths, challenges, and overall sense of self.

Session 2: “Managing Your Stress”
Learn how stress can lead to burnout and what you can do to prevent or recover from it. We’ll explore practical ways to shift your mindset and find greater balance in caregiving.

Session 3: “Balancing Relationships”
Strengthen your communication skills so you can identify your needs, ask for help, and share the care. One of the hardest lessons for caregivers is reclaiming their identity as a whole person by taking care of themselves first.

Session 4: “Navigating the System”
Build confidence in accessing services and supports, reflect on your caregiving journey, and plan for the future to reduce the stress that can come with uncertainty.

Please review our Group Guidelines before registering.

Your Facilitator: Anna-Lisa Christilaw

Anna-Lisa is a soul-led teacher, seeker, and guide, as well as a passionate Bow Valley Ambassador for Caregivers Alberta. Fueled by decades of experience in education, immigration, and hospitality in Ontario—and for the past 18 years in the Bow Valley—Anna-Lisa deeply believes in the power of nurturing sacred spaces for healing and transformation. She integrates her strong connections to nature, community, and holistic well-being to accompany others, regardless of age, stage of life, or background, through the “soulful adventures” of life.

Navigating her own caregiving journey and a season of profound loss led Anna-Lisa to discover Caregivers Alberta in 2022. This support has been a gift that truly “keeps on giving,” helping her find new paths as she works to authentically reintegrate into society while honouring the legacy of love and service passed on by her parents, Tony and Connie Celli.

Anna-Lisa is delighted to once again offer COMPASS for the Caregiver in person for the Bow Valley caregiving community. She is also especially grateful for the generous support of her husband, Adrian, and his business partner, Miko Ramsay, of Ram Projects and Renovations, whose financial contributions have helped make this opportunity possible for local caregivers interested in participating.
