Dementia is a growing concern, especially as the number of people who are affected by it increases. Given the changes and challenges people with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia experience, caregivers and helpers can face uncertainty in how to provide care, and often need to adjust their communication and support strategies. This workshop focuses on understanding the experience of dementia and increasing awareness of its impacts on individuals and families. Participants will learn practical dementia care skills for improving quality of life and responding to problematic issues, while maintaining meaningful relationships.
