Home Care will work with a caregiver in the home to provide nursing care and support to a palliative patient. Care needs will be assessed and delivered on an individual basis, and may include pain and symptom control management by Registered Nursing Staff, medication administration and education, personal care, equipment provisions, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy and respite care (for caregivers). People may choose to die at home with support from home care if they have a doctor who agrees to care for them there, have an Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan or agree to pay the cost of care at home.
