SASHA, the St. Albert Sturgeon Hospice Association, was established in 2013 with the goal “to support, educate and empower those who are affected by or caring for a person with a life-limiting illness in our community”.
Our primary objective, at the outset, was to work with local leaders in government and health care to create a residential hospice space in St. Albert. We are thankful that this objective was reached in January 2016, with the opening of ten hospice beds in Foyer Lacombe. (See the St. Albert Gazette, dated May 06, 2017, for an article on SASHA!)
Now that the objective of established hospice has been achieved, our attention is focused on providing support in our community. To that end, we have initiated our Compassionate Care Volunteer Program and a Connect Cafe. We would appreciate if you could take a look at our website and add us as a resource for the St. Albert and area community.
