Navigating Grief and the Holidays

Presented by: Kim Everinghamh

The holiday season can be a difficult time of year for many people, but when someone has experienced a loss, the grief can make the holidays even harder to navigate. Join us as we discuss the layers of what makes grief and the holidays challenging and explore ways to hold the grief during this time and in the future in a way that may feel right for you. In this interactive webinar we will explore tools that will help those experiencing grief during the holidays. We will consider ways that we can interact with family, explore our own boundaries and choices, and make it through this time of year.

Kim Everingham (She/Her) is a clinical social worker with more than twenty-five years of experience working with individuals and families in the areas of domestic violence, addiction, suicide, and bereavement. For the past nine years, she has worked at the Grief Support Program in the Calgary Zone, which offers individual, family and group counselling with a focus on trauma within the grief experience.  In addition to her work at Alberta Health Services, Kim has a private practice where she has the privilege of walking along side people in different aspects of their lives. With four teenagers at home, she understands the value of humour when navigating difficult life experiences and the importance of long walks with her dog.
